About This Project

In an impressive collaboration with NICE, a leading global software company, I joined the Aircards to help develop the NICEverse, an innovative WebXR gaming platform designed to engage NICE's workforce in a unique and interactive manner. The platform enabled over 7,500 employees to securely log in and engage in a variety of multi player mixed reality mini-games, pushing the boundaries of Web-based gaming and team interaction.

Impact

The NICEverse project has marked a monumental success in employee engagement, setting new benchmarks in participation and interaction within a corporate environment. This innovative venture has been distinguished by its outstanding achievements, including:

Exceptional Participation Rates: Over 60% of NICE employees registered to compete on the platform, representing the highest participation in the company's history of annual competitions.
Record-Breaking Gameplay Statistics: Players demonstrated remarkable engagement, with over 251,045 game missions played and an average of over 60 game missions completed by each participant. This level of activity has established new records for Web-based Mixed Reality gameplay.
Extended Session Durations: The average session duration exceeded 11 minutes, indicating deep user engagement and enjoyment of the gaming experience.
Widespread Social Sharing: The campaign inspired considerable social media interaction, with 7,745 shares, reflecting its popularity and shareability among users.
Innovative Gaming System: The platform featured six unique mini-games, supporting single and multiplayer modes, which were accessible through a secure login. This variety and security measure contributed significantly to the project's engagement levels.
Technical Excellence and Innovation: The use of AR iFrames to embed multiple AR mini-games on a single webpage was a highly innovative approach that enhanced the performance and user experience of the NICEverse.

Through these achievements, the NICEverse project not only fostered a vibrant community scene among NICE employees but also showcased the potential of WebXR and augmented reality technologies to revolutionize corporate engagement strategies.

Unique Gaming System

The NICEverse featured six distinct mini-games, each offering a unique challenge, from timed puzzles and scavenger hunts to asteroid avoidance and platform games. This diversity ensured a broad appeal, catering to different interests and gaming skills. The inclusion of both single and multiplayer modes, along with practice and qualifying sessions, added a competitive edge, encouraging teamwork and individual prowess, culminating in top performers winning a family trip to Disneyland.

Technical Details and Responsibilities

Asteroids-like 3D Game Development: Led the creation of a 3D space-themed game where players navigate a starship using their device's gyroscope to avoid asteroids and collect power-ups. This game, playable in augmented reality, showcased the potential of AR gaming by blending physical movement with virtual challenges.
Underwater Puzzle Game Creation: Developed an underwater-themed 3D puzzle game requiring players to connect pipes within a time limit, ensuring a stream's flow. This game, also enhanced with augmented reality, provided an immersive experience that combined problem-solving with a visually engaging underwater environment.
Sound Integration: Incorporated dynamic sound elements across both games to enhance the immersive experience, ensuring that audio cues complemented the visual gameplay effectively.
Multiplayer System and Notifications: Integrated a sophisticated multiplayer system, complete with a notification system to alert players about game events and invitations, facilitating seamless interaction among participants.
